You might think that searching for the best face wash won’t make a huge difference in your skin-care routine, but the right cleanser can change everything. There’s a common misconception that since the product is only on your face for a few seconds (that should be closer to 60, by the way), it's fine to use whatever you have lying around. But a good everyday face wash is the foundation for clear, healthy skin.
We asked Glamour staffers with skin types across the board, from extremely acne prone to Sahara dry, to share the cleansers that changed the game for them. Read on for the best face washes for every skin type.
Best Sustainable Cleanser: Bloomeffects Royal Tulip Cleansing Jelly, $39
The packaging. The tiny rose-gold tulip spoon. The pink, jelly-like solution. I basically love everything about this cleanser, which is rare, because I only like a handful of cleansers in general. (Also, tulip extracts? How fancy.) This one washes off with little effort and leaves zero residue. Oh, and if you needed more convincing, it also took home a Glamour Beauty Award in our sustainable category because of how its ingredients are sourced. As for that cute jar? It’s totally recyclable.
