Limitations and alternatives
Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of Bloomeffects website, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.
Known limitations for Bloomeffects website:
- Live chat window: the chat panel is supplied by Shopify and is displayed inside a frame that does not carry a name. People using a screen reader may not hear the chat identified when they reach it, although the chat itself can still be read and used. We have raised this with the supplier. Alternative: email us at accessibility@bloomeffects.com or use our contact form, and we will reply within one business day.
- Cart drawer: while the cart drawer is closed, a small number of its controls can still be reached with the Tab key even though they are positioned off screen. People navigating by keyboard may encounter focus stops that appear to lead nowhere. We have raised this with the app supplier. Alternative: the full cart page at /cart is not affected and offers the same functions.
- Sticky add-to-cart bar on product pages: the variant selector inside the bar that appears when you scroll cannot be operated with the arrow keys, and it reports an incorrect open or closed state to screen readers. We have raised this with the app supplier. Alternative: the main variant selector higher up the product page can be operated fully by keyboard and screen reader and performs the same function.
In addition, the following components are not owned by Bloomeffects and are controlled by a third party. They may contain sections with accessibility compliance issues as per WCAG.
