You may have noticed or seen Jordy Murray's (@j_murr) face before... maybe because Jordy is the main model on our Bloomeffects website and the face of many of our campaigns, or maybe because she was a Playmate in the December 2019 Playboy issue! Jordy is an American-born natural beauty who is an incredibly sought out model across the US and Australia - Jordy actually began her modeling career in Australia as a teen after moving there momentarily with her family. She is an avid traveler, self proclaimed health-nut and even previously co-owned a raw dessert company in NYC!
Jordy and has been a long-time Bloomeffects supporter (from before our launch, actually) and we are so grateful to call her a close friend of the brand. She generously shared some of her answers to our favorite 10 questions - we hope you love it as much as we do!
What do you love most about your skin?
Mmmm my freckles! I know that's naughty but I think freckles are so timeless.
If were stuck on an island and could bring only 3 skincare products, what would they be?
What a travesty! I would bring a powder to cream cleanser (so doesn't spoil in the sun!) a hyaluronic acid & moisturizer that doubles as spf a million. Is that cheating?
What type of skin do you have?
Normal/Combination/frustrating. I'm not overtly 'sensitive' to products but I'm acne prone for sure.
What is your best skincare hack?
Less is more. Are you so annoyed? Ok hear me out, less is more as in less steps, sure, absolutely! Your skin loves consistency. But also, as in less ingredients. Simple, natural, high quality skincare staples. Once you find things that work for you, be loyal to them. The grass isn't always greener.
What excites you most about Bloomeffects?
As a clean beauty brand, I can't get over how powerful the products are. I'm a big proponent of natural beauty, of course, but at the end of the day the products need to put in work.
Why do you take care of your skin?
I know it seems like a lot of effort to look after your skin, but the irony is, I do it because I'm lazy! I don't want to have to wake up in the morning and waste time color correcting or covering up my spots in a mirror. It easier (and far more rewarding) to just stick to a routine and then not have to think about it again.
Describe your go-to morning skincare routine.
I often use a retinal at night, so in the mornings I try to not put my skin though too many actives. Usually, it's a splash of water or maybe a gentle(!!) manual exfoliation in the shower, depending on what my skin needs. Followed by a vitamin c serum and some SPF.
What is your favorite Bloomeffects product and why?
Royal. Tulip. Nectar. It goes on like a balm and if you wear it overnight or when you're flying you emerge looking infantile. I've honestly never met a product like this that doesn't woefully clog my pores.
If you could go back to your 16 year old self and give them any advice at all what would it be?
You're going to regret that tanning bed miss.
